Press Biography

Chris describes his job as “helping businesses, to help their customers (and employees) live their lives better”.

Chris works with the C-Suite to support them to deeply understand the brand they work for and leads cross-functional teams to look at consumers’ problems differently to their competitors in order to create irresistible experiences.

He has decades of experience working for global premium brands that customers admire and expect exceptional service from and is renowned for creating award winning experiences customers are willing to pay more for.

Chris started his career at British Airways where he worked in a number of operational roles and discovered his passion for experience design. His career at BA culminated in him leading the design and launch of the company’s all-business class air service connecting London City Airport to New York, which affectionately became known by customers as “the son of Concorde”.

He took a little time out of the aviation industry to explore the world of telecommunications before he made the move down under to join Virgin Australia to lead the brand strategy and innovation team as the company transitioned from low cost Virgin Blue to full service Virgin Australia.

While in Brisbane, he developed the airline's innovation programme and led the redesign and launch of its award-winning ultra-long haul business class and premium economy cabin experiences.

In 2017 he swapped his wings for fins and moved to the USA to head up the Virgin Voyages’ Sailor (Customer) Experience Team. He led the customer experience design of the new company from strategy through to execution across all areas of the business turning the start-up business vision into operational multi-award winning reality.

Whilst at Virgin Voyages he took on accountability for the strategy design and implementation of the associated Crew (Employee) Experience to build a thriving internal culture within the business, in addition to ensuring Crew had the skills, tools and business insights, to be inspired to excel, driving overall business success.

At the end of 2023 Chris founded StubbsC Design and now supports the C-Suite of different businesses on how to turn their customers into brand fanatics.
